For most parents, cleaning the baby bottles after they have been filled with formula, breast milk or cow’s milk can be a tedious task. The milk can seem to stick to the bottom of the bottle and make the bottle difficult to clean, if not rinsed immediately after the bottle has been used.
Using the right tools to clean the glass baby bottles makes it easier to clean the baby bottles and also ensures that the bottle is not going to grow any pesky bacteria, from inefficient cleaning. The most popular tools that are used to cleanse the baby bottles is a baby bottle brush. The bottle brush is used to clean the bottle, and can reach into the bottom of the bottle to clean the milk residue from within it.
Bottle brushes and mild soap are the only two tools that are required to clean the baby bottles. Baby bottle brushes are available at local baby boutiques, department stores and even at the local drug store. Since they are widely available, it’s easy to find a bottle brush for under five bucks.
To clean the baby bottle, first fill the baby bottle with a combination of water and mild soap. Most parents like to fill the bottle half-way with water and shake the bottle while covering the top to remove any residue from the top of the bottle. Next, the parent should use a sink full of hot soapy water to remove any milk residue from the bottle.
Using the bottle brush, the parent can place the brush inside of the baby bottle to extend the brush to clean the inside of the bottle. Since the bottle brush is created with larger bristles, by moving the bottle brush up and down inside of the bottle, it can be easy to clean the entire bottle.
One the bottle brush has been used, it’s important to rinse the bottle thoroughly to ensure that all soap residue has been removed from the bottle. Even mild soap can cause a bitter taste in the milk and potentially an upset stomach in the infant using the bottle.
